Massy Ferguson & Danni Nicholls at The Three Horseshoes in Ecton, Northamptonshire 14th July 2019
Over the weekend of the 12th, 13th and 14th July The Three Horseshoes pub in Ecton became the location of the Ecton International Music & North West Food Festival.
On Friday 12th, the Fargo Railroad Co. played and on Saturday 13th, Stone Mountain Sinners stepped in at short notice to cover for I See Hawks in L.A. (who sadly had to cancel their UK dates for this summer) and The Vincent Vega Band played during the afternoon.
On Sunday, Massy Ferguson, touring in support of their new release ‘Great Divides’, came to Ecton. The overcast skies held off and we were eventually treated to some blue sky! The afternoon started with a few songs from Danni Nicholls including some from her latest project ‘The Melted Morning’.
Danni also joined Massy Ferguson during their first set as well as joining them for their finale.
Kian Russell, a UK-born guitarist (& local lad), had met up with Massy Ferguson when he was working in Seattle and was brought on to add some superb blues-rock guitar work.
Exuberance got the better of Massy Ferguson’s Ethan Anderson; despite him disappearing into the pub, his flute could still be heard in the balmy afternoon air and he then reappeared in an upstairs window. His return was greeted with cheers as he made his way through the audience though his enthusiasm got the better of him when a bench seat that he stood on broke – no-one was hurt and (as can be seen in the picture below) this was laughed off.
Thank you to The Three Horseshoes and all of the sponsors of this event including the wonderful Vinylfinders whose premises are off the pub carpark.
